my chosen clothing and drawing style

As the whole story was a dream, i feel that the design style can look disjointed and unreal (adding a dreamlike quality to it). Also to illustrate the growing that Alice goes through, would look less freaky in a highly stylistic form, rather than the cartoon stretching of a realistic character.

Alice's age i would estimate to be around 7. her dress is not full length but around her calves /knees. Though i do not think that she would be using a hoop under the dress yet.
What would colours signify in this character? white for innocence, pink for feminine childishness, light green for youth, muddy pink for immature, red for aggression. I want to give her blonde hair to stereotype her stupidity. The colour of her dress will suit her personality.
My chosen clothing style, yet the dress will be shorter as Alice is younger.
STRIPED SILK DAY DRESS, 1860s I like the neckline of this dress, and the relative simplicity of it. 3 pieces, c/o bodice, Swiss waist, & skirt, of sky blue taffeta printed w/ dark blue pin stripes & ombre brown stripes, all trimmed w/ ruched black silk ribbon, bodice w/ sweetheart neckline, all lined in glazed cotton, B 32", W 24.5", skirt L 33",possibly for young woman, (small tear on L sleeve, 1 button replaced, underarms slight stains & fabric shatterine) good. Price Realized: $ 115.00

I admire Mauro Evangelista's style as i feel that it reflects the character and the book as a whole.I will adapt his style with mine to create an Alice that is suited to the story.
