Having a conflict of interests between our client and tutor in this project. However both seem to be disliking parts of the project.
Our tutor, constantly wants us to cut corners, after we've already done them. He prefers the realistic view we are taking, for the consumer (kids), and he is helping with our cinematography (in which I need a fair bit of help). He feels that parts of the narrative are not important enough to be there, and it is the wrong way to address the consumer.
Our client, wants the product to be abstract and fun. He finds the realistic environment to be the frightening, unnerving image that hospitals usually are. He thinks that going 'instructional' for this project is simply making another of those boring hospital videos. He thinks that the narrative should be more fun and free of the hospital environment. His idea is to make it more of a game.
I completely agree with the narrative, as it is not entirely nurturing, and is mainly instructional. This is not something that the consumer will be interested in; So perhaps a story line or more engaging narrative will be better. Also, I would like to change the environment to a 'Pocoyo' style, however I do not feel that we can be making too many drastic changes with only two weeks to go. Making the realistic environment more friendly will hopefully meet half way in between these two views.
